Thank you to everyone who supported the Clothes Swap.
A sum of £145 was raised.
Calling all ladies!
We’re having a Clothes Swap on Saturday 13 May, 10am-12noon at LEBC, £5 entry.
What is a clothes swap?
Most of us have at least one item in our wardrobes that we don’t want any more, either a bad impulse-buy, something we’ve grown out of, or grown tired of. It’s time to have a clear-out! Bring all your unwanted items (including jewellery, shoes, books, CDs, etc.) along to the swap, and take home anything that you fancy. All sizes and styles welcome. There is no charge for individual items, just £5 entry. All money from the entry fee will go towards the Kigezi LEBC trip. (*What’s this? See below…)
Please feel free to invite your friends, neighbours…..anyone who wears clothes. The more (clothes) the merrier! If you are able, it would be great if you could bring us your items before the event so we can set up, but if not, just bring them along on the day.
The church café will also be open during this time for you to purchase all sorts of drinks and yummies as well.
What is the Kigezi Water and Sanitation Programme?
Lower Earley Baptist Church (LEBC) has been supporting the Water and Sanitation Programme in Kigezi, Uganda since 2015. LEBC’s support has been enabling people in Kigezi to build water storage tanks for communities with limited access to clean water supplies, as well as training in good hygiene and sanitation practice.
In August 2017, a team from LEBC will be visiting the community in Kigezi to see first-hand the impact of the water and sanitation programme, to build relationships with people there, as well as encouraging them with practical support. Any money raised from the Clothes Swap will go towards the cost of this trip.
